Why Train at Swing This Kettlebell?
Humans need to train to use the whole body as one unit, in all planes of motion including acceleration and deceleration to perform at their best in life and competition. Bodybuilders use machines to target certain muscles just for the aesthetic appeal. Muscle mass doesn’t always equate to strength.
This is where freeweights, barbells, kettlebells, ropes, and other functional tools come to play. Look at Olympic weightlifters. They do not train all the time with machines for specific parts of their body. They train the Olympic lifts to train the body as a whole. This allows a person who has less muscle mass to be able to lift more than a heavily muscled bodybuilder who only lifts for looks. Training the body as a whole using the functional training tools we use at Swing will allow you to train for your life or specific sport.
The benefits of Kettlebell training are endless. You will develop strength in all planes of motion, stabilization , strength and speed for power. Power is developed from SPEED and strength. Speed cannot be developed from machines as easily as it can with kettlebells, battling ropes , medicine balls and bodyweight . Kettlebells are highly versatile and portable but do to the range of movement that athletes can produce with them, an open area is a must for safety. This is why Swing is very open and does not use machines.
Right now there is a movement towards functional training for everyone from athletes to the general fitness enthusiasts. Large corporate gyms are beginning to feel it as there are many smaller personalized training studios such as mine are claiming space closer to home. We feel that functional training using our tools can only bring you to the next level of endurance, speed, strength and mental /physical confidence.
